• Hi everyone. My 2009 Macbook Pro is ready to bite the dust. Replacing parts is getting increasingly sophisticated and it definitely doesn't hold up like it did when it was a new $3k rigged out machine. I'm considering building a hackintosh to replace it, and have explored some sidebar links, yet still have some questions for the community.

  • Can I build it in a rack-mountable case? Will this limit my choices in terms of other components?

  • What is a quiet cooling system? How do I make the machine as quiet as possible?

  • Can I have separate boot drives for 10.6, 10.9, and Windows that will all work with the same hardware?

  • It needs to receive wifi signals. Problem?

  • Excluding my pre-existing displays, apple usb keyboard, and old logitech optical mouse, how much should I expect to pay? Looking to include a ssd and sexy cpu.

  • Why are my bullet points suddenly only working if absolutely everything is bulleted..?

  • I realize I may be asking for a very specific all-in-one machine that might be out of reality's offerings, feel free to tear apart my optimism. THANKS FOR ANY INSIGHT YALL.
