I have a licensed Win7 machine I would like to Hackintosh as a project over the next few weeks. I have checked the motherboard and it looks to be guided/compatible, but I have a few questions regarding the backup of my current install.

The machine itself is an i5 (2500 IIRC) with 2x500Gb RAID + 2TB Slave drive.

Ideally, I would like some advice on the best way to "backup" my windows install to then be able to run it under bootcamp or parellels. The only problem is I have never used bootcamp. Or Parellels. Or a Mac, for that matter.

I guess my questions are

  • Anyway of getting the Unibeast install to see my drives (the 2TB is controlled by the RAID controller so it can't see anything)

  • Whats the best way of backing up my current install so I can use it on my hackintosh, either as a VM or a boot option.

  • Can I have more than one Win7 install alongside a hackintosh install?
  • Any limitations I should be aware of.

Lastly, I am not too precious about keeping the RAID config, I have a RAID NAS with Time Machine fucntionality, so I can afford to go vanilla.
