I have an iMac 21' with the best specs I can get from Apple (specs at the end of post). It cost me 2350$ to get it custom made. It's still in its box untouched because I don't have a desk ready for it yet because of some space issues that I ought to get dealt with. And it's been like that for almost two months now. At that time I thought that I have everything that I'll ever need in modern technology, but after some snooping around on the internet out of curiosity of what other people have, I've realized that I made a grieve costly and money wasting mistake and discovered that my iMac was just nothing compered to beast PCs that I saw people have. It bothered me a lot. I loved Apple's Operating System and thought that I couldn't do anything to have an Apple product that'll run the OS X and not cost me 2000$ to upgrade every 1-2 years. Afterwards, I thought of switching to PC, until I stumbled on this Hackintosh thingie as I was surfing the Internet a couple of days ago. I'm really interested in this, and since my iMac is untouched in it's box I can sell it and get most of my money back and use it to make an even better OS X device of my own.
Since I don't know jack shit about how Hackintoshes work and assembled. I need some guidance and general insights (hence the title) about this. Please I want a good explanation. I have some knowledge on gaming PCs and how they have custom Motherboards, Graphic Cards, Storage, etc... And Also here are some questions that I need to be targeted while explaining or just answer them directly and separately one by one:
How do Hackintosh's assembling, software/OS X installation and upgrades done? And is it simple? Or complex to a degree that I'll need some assistance from a professional from a Shop?
Are there any limits to what I can add of Graphic Cards, Motherboards, etc... to my Hackintosh?
Does this HACKintosh-y stuff cause any bugs to my Hackintosh and how the Operating System works?
Can I use any original Apple accessories on my Hackintosh like Keyboards, Mouses, Trackpads, etc... ? And are there any limits of Hardware usage on my Hackintosh like for example, a "Tunderbolt" slot?
How similar is a Hackintosh to an Upgradable Gaming PC?
Is there a way that I can have a dual screen with one having OS X running and the other running Windows 8?
I want my Hackintosh to look as close to an Apple design as possible (cuz I love Apple's sleek design) Are there cases that have that look? Link?
Random Q: What does Apple think of Hackintosh? Do they support it? Or the opposite? Or are they just Indifferent?
Any additional and useful information is appreciated. Hopefully if all of the questions in this post are answered, I'll have everything I need to finally settle this with a great device that'll fit my technological needs.
I also want a Hackintosh build with the budget of 1700-1800$. :D
