Hello!

I built my own desktop a little over a year ago, and I would like to be able to develop iOS applications, and thus I believe I need a computer running OS X to do so.

Rather than breaking out lots of money for a mac, I'd like to make one out of my desktop. I am a bit confused about the process however.

From what I can tell, I can buy Snow Leopard for $20, then upgrade to Mavericks for free? This seems too cheap to me, but I'm not going to complain. What other software do I need?

On the hardware side, I recently bought an Nvidia gfx card to replace my ATI one (a slight upgrade too!). The rest of my build can be found at the bottom of this post. From what I can tell, the only thing that is a red flag is my ASRock mobo...but I have found that it is possible. My question is, what do I need to do to get OS X installed on my computer?

Also I currently have 25GB free on my SSD, and 1.5TB free on my HDD. Should I just partition off a couple hundred GB on my HDD for this install? How much space does an OS X install need? 200GB?

Thanks for the help!
