I'm pretty new at this kind of thing, and the graphics are giving me a headache. I just recently repaired sound and ethernet, and everything else appears to be working besides the crappy graphics. It's a R7970 Lightning, and it's a rare card if anything. I've tried a few things:

  • I had to delete a few graphical kexts in order to get it to boot without any issues, the only AMD ones left are AMD700Controller, AMDFramebuffer, and AMDSupport. I mainly deleted the older card AMD ones, a ton of IntelHD ones, and another AMDFramebuffer and AMDRadeonVADriver. My Device ID is in the 7000Controller (that looks like it means something).

  • I've tried a lot of the framebuffers, and none of them help too much. Half of them completely butcher it, and the other half show AMD Radeon HD 7XXX 3072MB as my card. From what I understand I want it to show the correct full name?

  • I am running dual monitors, but I can live without them if I can get it to work smoothly. My bios is set for internal graphics with the second monitor plugged straight into the mobo just for testing purposes to see if it can boot or not.

Any guides or anything that explain without cutting corners how to go about getting this working?
