I have an HP 8460w which has the firepro m3900 which I brought to discussion here before. This GPU is roughly equal to the 6470m(??)
So far, I tried to add the device id to the 6xxxcontroller kext but it appears to already be in there, yet GE=yes will not let the system boot, after reinstalling the kext and removing extra amd/ati kexts that were not needed.
I know nothing about editing DSDTs. I used the probook installer app to build the rest of the system which is working out well for the most part. I dont want to reverse engineer the dsdt / applications job if I can help it but it sounds like this is my only option.
I also feel crazy enough to attempt to vbios flash from a firepro to a Radeon...
Anyone have any experience in GPU fixes that maybe could point me in the right direction?
