So after getting OS X 10.6.8 working, the fan on my HD5850 video card died, and rather than get a fan, I replaced the card with a GTX 560ti which turns out to be not so good. OS X 10.7.x and OS X10.8.x couldn't get anything going except one time I had OS X 10.8.5 running, but did not write down the boot flags used and could never get it back up. Along comes Niresh with his 10.9 distro. Not only was it easier to install than 10.6 it is way smoother and nicer

Once in installer the only thing I checked was the AppleATIATA and the JMICRON drivers, left all else checked, and it installed without error. After it rebooted and completed the final stages of the Distro install, I installed the CMOS fix from MultiBeast (that is all), and reboot.

I have installed OpenOffice, Trillian IM for Mac, Chrome, and Steam: Borderlands 2, Metro Last Light, Duke Nukem Forever (yes, that game), Batman Arkham City, Portal 1 and 2, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, and Serious Sam 3.

Some of these games run pretty well considering what I am running. Metro Last Light is the exception. The hardware requirements for OS X compared to the Windows and Linux versions is stupid out of proportion and I am at the minimum RAM at 8GB (WTF!!)

iTunes, App Store run. iMessage does not at this time, nor does TimeCapsule and Bootcamp. Other wise all works as a proper Mac
