I'm looking to purchase, install, and setup an effective back up system for my dual booting hackintosh. (UD7TH-4770K-GTX770)

Would like to first say, that the thing is running very cleanly and very fast. I think I'm going to try to also allow the macos side to virtualize the win7 and see if I can't get that to work as well. I've run into a couple issues where the bootup wants to hang up, but then it works just fine with "graphicsenabler=no". The weird part is that that is already in the bootloader.plist. Hmm anyway.

Brief description of system: 250GB SSD with two partitions, both HFS, one is my OSX boot, and one is a rescue partition 128GB SSD that has two partitions, a NTSF for Win7, and storage. 500Gb HDD external that I'm currently using for media.

My goals: I would like an internal HDD for all media storage, similar to how my current external hdd is being used. (I've opened it up and it can't be used internally) I would like a backup storage method that will cover the OSes and data on those systems. I would love for this back up process to be executed in the background on a set schedule. I would like to do this on as few drives as possible. I only have about 1 TB of data across everything.

From my research, I'm not sure that this is possible. I can use clonezilla to create mirrors of the SSDs, but each "clone" requires an entire HD, and I wouldn't be able to use the excess space (for example, if I purchase a 500GB internal drive to back up the 250GB drive, I essentially lose the extra 250gbs correct?) Also, it sounds like this is a somewhat laborious process, in that I would have to manually do this copying, which, knowing myself, I'll probably only do twice. Similarly, I'd like the internal "media drive" to be accessible by both OSes and this data should also be backed up. I don't want to leave music/videos/pictures on the SSDs as it's kind of a waste.

So far the "best" option I've come up with is to get 4 internal HDDs, all 500GB or so. Set up two of them to mirror the to SSDs, and the other two in mirrored setup (I am not sure if I could get a raid1 setup to work with both OSes) This seems excessive.

I would think Disk Utility would be able to do it, and perhaps with Automator, I could schedule it. The key is would I be able to back up both SSDs onto different partitions of the same HDD? Perhaps setting it up so that both SSDS are copied to their respective partitions, and have an extra 500Gb partition that is used for media storage, that is automatically mirrored onto the external drive?

Alternatively I could purchase a network HDD, but I'm currently only using a airport express, which means I'd also have to update that. And even so, this doesn't eliminate the 2 internal HDDs and manual "cloning" process.

I feel like there has to be a better solution.
