OK, so my budget is wee - a little over $200. I already have a system up and running, but it's an old system, sporting a Core2Duo E4700 2.6GHz and 4GB of RAM. The video card is an old Nvidia 8600.

I can run Snow Leopard with all those parts, but Mavericks can't do that video card and will only install using the built in Intel GPU, which can't do dual monitor, or anything other than 1024x768 for that matter.

I desperately need to update my system so I can run Mavericks, because I need access to the latest XCode for my work. The trick is, I also do a lot of video editing for work, so I'm trying to figure out where my money would be best spent.

I use Adobe Premiere, so a GPU with Cuda cores would definitely help. The question is, would that help me more than say a new i3, mobo and RAM upgrade?

I need advice. I'm a reasonably smart guy who's built a lot of computers over the years, but because of the limited budget here, I'm in a bit of a quandry and can't decide if upgrading my CPU/mobo/RAM would be better for me than upgrading my GPU.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
