These are my specs:

  • Core i7 2630QM @ 2.0ghz

  • 16 gb of ddr3 ram @ 1336mhz (had 8, one 4gb stick died, had a $50 giftcard on amazon so I got the 16gb kit really cheap)

  • Intel HD 3000 / Radeon HD 6630M (there has been no solution for this, and I doubt it will, but for the tasks that I do, the HD 3000 is more than enough) 1336x768 display (They had run out of 900p displays when I ordered my model)

  • How did I install?

Downloaded the Mavericks installer through the appstore on my MBA, then My Hack. Process was pretty straight forward after this if you've used My Hack before, and even if you haven't (it was my first time using it) it's pretty easy to follow a tutorial.

Booted into the installer using cpus=1 busratio=20. Got into the installer, screen res was perfect. Did the usual, erase your hdd if you need to etc, then proceed to install.

My Hack will prompt you with some kexts to be deleted at the end of the install, select to delete them all because they're gonna cause you problems if you don't.

Booted again with the same bootflags. Noticed audio, usb3, trackpad and wifi doesn't work (there's no fix for this, you'd have to purchase an usb wireless adaptor)

I had experience with Lion before, so I pretty much knew what I needed to make it work. To fix the audio, I ran Multibeast, selected Audio>Universal>VodooHDA 2.7.3, to get USB3 to work, go to misc>Universal USB3. To get all your cores working and not need to input any bootflags, I used the Lapic Kernel Patcher v0.7.

For the trackpad, I used a custom voodoops2 kext that I found on tonymacx86, it was intended for hp probooks, but it worked on my laptop so I can't really complain.

Restart, and you should be all set!

Also, you're safe to upgrade from 10.9.1 to 10.9.2, only thing is that you'll need to boot with the boot flags once to finish the upgrade, once you're upgraded and in the desktop, run the Lapic patcher again, and you should be good.

What doesn't work?

  • Wifi

  • AMD graphics

  • iMessage, iCloud

If you have any questions regarding this HP model, let me know (:
