Hey,
I finished my build and finally got a mobo I read was compatible and worked. I tried 2 gigabyte boards, both dead out of the box. Anyway.
So I created a USB on Windows with Niresh, unplugged all my drives apart from the SSD I was installing OSX to and... nothing happened. Just a black screen. The only UEFI option I couldn't find was the HPET one - is that really important? It's the only thing I could think of that was preventing it booting from the USB stick.
