I have a PC I built a while back that I want to turn in to a hackintosh.

  • Intel Core i5 2500k

  • EVGA GTX 560

  • ASUS Savertooth (UEFI)

I read a few tutorials and Niresh seemed like the easiest way to go (I don't really have access to OSX)

So I downloaded the Niresh Mavericks dmg, created a usb boot drive which works but I'm getting stuck after I launch niresh from the drive, it starts th install and then hangs when it gets to "CPU is Intel..."

Before I spend a bunch of time trying to figure out why Niresh isn't working, I want to make sure that it's worth it. I'm all for trying something different like the myhack method but the guide makes it seem like you need OSX to get started.

Can't I just download an ISO from somewhere and create a bootable usb?
