first, i know there's no such thing as "typical" when it comes to these these but i'm trying to gauge SSD size for my hackintosh. My windows SSD, used for gaming, is 120GB and quickly running out of space (even though I put games and data on a separate mechanical drive in another bay).
Wondering if I get a 256GB SSD, and put the cloned Windows OS on that... will the original 120GB SSD be sufficient for OS X? (Again, with most user data on a separate interior drive)?
And yes, I read the Apple instructions saying you need 8GB or more for 10.9 install. But that's not really a true measure of how much a working OS takes on a drive. I'm curious to know how much space it takes after, say, six month of use.
OR Am I better off spending more for a 480/512GB SSD and splitting them in half (partitions)??
Curious to know any thoughts if you've been in the same boat.
