Honestly I'm just posting to brag, I somehow made this build work:
AMD 1090T (4ghz OC)
XSM3 8GB Ram
Powercolor 7950
Gigabyte 970A-DS3
Running on some old Seagate 250GB drive I pulled out of a DVD player with a IDE to SATA adapter.
The only problem I had was sound, I have no idea when it started working but it definitely is working now. At first I only got white noise so I tried Multibeast and all the sound drivers to work with nothing and errors only about AppleHDA or whatever. I don't remember much apart from that but it now all works.
I'm considering running this as my main OS instead of Windows 7 because I like to live dangerously and moving this install to my SSD. I'd probably end up putting Windows 10 Developer Preview on this old HDD.
Does anyone object to using this as a main OS?
