Hey, first time hackintosh/dual booter, going to try do it this weekend on my windows PC I built a few months ago. When building it I decided not to choose components for compatibility for dual booting (Originally gonna do it but decided against it) and instead just choose them on performance since I was building it for gaming.

Anyway, I just have a few things I want to clear up...

I understand I have to change my BIOS settings (I have a MSI z97-G55 SLI motherboard, hoping that works...), this will inevitably change the way my computer loads windows so how are these settings stored. Can I only have one configuration and have to manually change them to switch between them, or can I have multiple configurations and therefore have them configured dependent on what I boot... I read somewhere that I'd have to change windows to ACHI mode? If that is the case and therefore allows me to boot either without any additional configuration, are there any disadvantages to that (No idea what it is or any repercussions it may bestow on me...).

Also I have a gigabyte GTX 970 GPU, I've heard it works with additional drivers. Is this true? If not, if there a way of choosing the default devices you use when in mac OS compared to windows OS. I read one guy had to unplug his GPU completely to actually get the mac OS to boot up. I'd rather not unplug and plug things in everytime I want to switch between them...

As well as those, is there any disadvantages to dual booting i.e. performance issues, compatibility issues with either OS. Fyi, I'll be installing the mac OS on a separate clean HD as well as installing the latest OS (Yosemite). Anything else that I should take into account would be nice to know as well.

Thanks :D
