I have been using mackintoshes for quite some time, initially I used it on my Core 2 Duo rig and now on my 3rd Gen i5. Back in 2012 I had tried installing Snow Leopard on the above said laptop but that ended up bad probably because I hadn't followed instructions carefully(it was my first attempt at creating a Hackintosh). Nevertheless it was botched and I never tried installing OSx on it again. The primary problem was that the screen was split into 4 parts all mirroring the same thing (I followed the TonyMac x86 Snow Leopard Guide)
I won't mind installing any version of OSx as long as it works stable though Yosemite would be preferred. (My desktop runs OSx Yosemite Installed from the Niresh Installer)
