So I arrived home after a few weeks of travels to find that all of a sudden, I can't get my computer past the ASUS motherboard screen. It just hangs as a white cursor on a black background.
I tried using rboot and iboot - made a chameleon usb boot drive - and they all stall after the initial loading saying, "Can't find mach_kernel".
I have not deleted any files or even had the computer ON for weeks. It was fine the last time I used it!!! I'm dreading the idea of having to wipe it, I have a lot of complicated programs and plugins on there..
Also, I'm a dummy and although I have all my music project files backed up, I don't have a backup of the system drive. Is there any way to read the system drive from another computer a la firewire chaining, so that I can back it up in case I do need to wipe and reinstall?
