I want to start out by saying sorry because a lot of this has probably been asked before, in some way or another. I did take a look through the FAQ, but I'm still confused on a few things.
I'm currently using a Windows 7 custom-built PC, with these specs:
- CPU - Intel Pentium Anniversary (G3258) OC'd to 4.5Ghz, cooled by a corsair H100
- MOBO - ASRock Z97 Anniversary
- RAM - 4GB, Adata brand.
- GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4GB
- PSU - Seasonic S1211 620W
- A dell brand optical drive ripped from an old pre-built.
- I think that's all the relevant specs. If you need more lemme know.
It seems like from what I saw, my cpu/mobo combo should both be compatible, that's great! But what i'm not sure about is which method I should use to install.
Right now, I'm using a 160GB HDD with a Windows 7 Install. If I could somehow install Yosemite without breaking my windows install, that would be preferable, but it won't break my heart if I have to wipe windows and re-install later.
Basically, my questions are:
- Are all my parts compatible?
- I have a hackintosh'd Dell D620 running Snow Leopard. How do I use it to make installation media for my current PC?
- I use ethernet, not Wi-Fi, so that's not an issue.
- What's the best installer for me? (unibeast, kakewalk, myhack)
- What's the minimum partition size I should give OSX? I'm kind of on a small HDD here, although I intend to upgrade when possible.
I wanted to use kakewalk, but it seems like their homepage is down and I can't find a compatibility list for it anywhere.
Thank you for taking the time to read this :P.
