Again, just messing around with an old computer and OS X. This time i've got an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop. Here's the System Information window from 10.7's Installer: http://i.imgur.com/1Ereo10.jpg (It doesn't have a Core 2 Duo processor, it's a Centrino Duo, not sure why it doesn't recognize it). Also, I don't know if it will support this processor but I guess I will find out later. The problem here is the Ram; I only have 1gb (Two 512mb sticks) and I don't really want to spend money on this since it's not mine. I know Lion runs just fine with 1gb because I've installed it a couple times on old computers by swapping the hard drives. Though, they were original MacBooks, I don't know if that will work on a Hackintosh.
Is there any way to bypass the 2gb requirement?
P.S. I had already modified the installer by replacing the OSInstall.mpkg (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/262437-install-lion-gmretail-on-a-pc-with-only-1gb-of-ram/) with one that was configured for 1gb of ram but I'm almost sure I did it incorrectly because I didn't find /System/Installation/Packages in the installer app (And it didn't work).
P.S.2 I won't just give up and install windows, this piece of garbage won't run it correctly. My Windows XP CD says it can't be installed on this machine -not telling me why-. Vista runs slow as hell. Windows 7 runs "meh" but it has crashed several times saying that bootmgr is missing; it isn't worth it. And Windows 8 runs fine until you start installing basic programs like Chrome, then it becomes slower than Vista. OS X is my only hope. The owner of this computer doesn't know a thing about Linux.
