I have been struggling to get audio to work on my new hackintosh (ga-z97x-sli). Updating the audio drivers via multibeast doesn't seem to work. There is no applehda.kext in my extensions folder. After searching on this forum and elsewhere, I explored the installler according to /u/mm3947:

"In Terminal:

cd /Volumes/USB (or whatever your install drive path is) hdiutil attach BaseSystem.dmg

After the last command, make note of the path before Apple_HFS (e.g. /dev/disk3s2). The original AppleHDA.kext will be in /Volumes/OS X Base System/System/Library/Extensions. When you have copied it:

hdiutil detach /dev/disk3s2 (or whatever the path with Apple_HFS was above)."

It seems like the applehda.kext is missing from the installer. The closest thing I can find is /S/extra/modules/HDAEnabler.dylib
