I've been trying to get my hackintosh running off and on for about a year now. I've looked through every guide I can find, and just can't get it to work. I have an XPS 8500, and it seems that literally everything about my build should be perfect -- this article even presents it as such -- but when in the end I just cannot get it functioning.
I've tried this guide, that seems like it would be helpful, but it still didn't work.
My XPS has the Radeon HD 7570 graphics card, and I tried following all of these steps, and a few other guides, as I've found numerous places that say that card should work.
I have a separate HDD to run it from, so I have a 500GB HDD to run OS X from, a 1TB HDD to run Windows from, AMD Radeon HD 7570, and i7-3770 processor (3.4GHz).
Ultimately I’d like to boot with Clover so that I could have the iMessage/etc features, and would like to have the Windows drive there in case I need it. I’ve tried with Clover and Easybeast/Multibeast, and once got the Easy/Multi-setup to have it running but only on my integrated graphics and it couldn’t boot without the USB, and couldn’t boot unless I disabled all boot flags, graphicsenabler, etc.
I’d like to ask for tips or help, but there’s really no specific question and guides I’ve followed haven’t worked. I will eventually buy a Mac, but don’t expect to be in the financial position to get one that matches these specs for about 5 years.
Does anyone know of a resource where I could get more direct help and get question answered? I’ve reviewed the rules for this sub, and I don’t think this question violates it, so: would anyone be interested in helping me? I would even be open to paying for a service at this point (if it game down to it).
