This total hackintosh noob somehow managed to get Yosemite up and running on an Asus P8Z68-V Pro about a month ago. I installed using the onboard graphics, and just added a GTX 580 to my system.
Since adding the new video card (and configuring it in the BIOS), booting up flashes the Apple logo and 1/8 of the progress bar for a few seconds before hitting a black screen and the monitor going into power-saving mode.
Hitting any key to enter Unibeast's 'startup options' and booting in safe mode sees the progress bar go about halfway, but it takes a lot longer, and ends up with a black screen as well.
Verbose boot doesn't help much, as everything disappears when the screen goes black. I suppose I could video it and capture the last frame, but...
Am I looking at a complete reinstall to get my new video card working, or is there something I'm missing?
