Hey everyone im trying to install Mavericks and this is my first build. I have the start up and the files on a thumb drive the copy of mavericks is a legit copy. Im following the video

and Im at the bootup stage. Im having an issue where after I type in the flags and hit enter I get a blank screen then the apple logo and then thats it. He says in the video to switch from ide to ahci and im currently running windows 7. Do I have to set my computer to ahci in the bios and if so will that affect windows? Or am I just doing something wrong? I have windows on an ssd and a separate hard drive for OSX. Thanks for any help.
Specs AMD Phenom II x6 1090T MB - MSI 870-G45 GPU - GTX 770 4gb and Quadro 4000
