Hey guys! I am new to hacking and building, but I'm pretty tech savvy so it comes easy to me. One of my friends just gave me his old Powermac g5 tower. I was told it works, but I don't have a power supply cord yet. I just ordered one tonight.
SO my question is - what would you guys do to rev this thing up a little bit? Its a later 2006 one with the model number A1177. From what I can tell from opening the thing up is that it has the 250gb hard drive and 4 gb ram. And its a duel core 2.3ghz. Not sure what OS is on it yet, but I will be able to tell soon, hopefully.
I guess if it doesn't work, I'll just turn it into a full on hackintosh project.
Also, sorry if this isn't an ok reddit to post this in. Just point me in the right direction if I'm out of place. I tried to search but couldn't find many mac related subreddits.
