Hey /r/Hackintosh,
So I've built my dream computer and have had it running for a good month or so now. It works great, however there are some minor things that I would like to fix up.
This is my setup:
Part | Model |
---|---|
CPU | Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core |
CPU Cooler | Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU |
Motherboard | Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD7 TH ATX LGA1150 |
Memory | Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 |
Storage | Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive + Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive |
Video Card | Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE |
Case | Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case |
PSU | Corsair Professional 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX |
Monitors | 2x Dell U2412M 60Hz 24.0" |
So my computer was taking about 1 - 2 mins to boot up, which was okay for me, but when reading a thread where people are getting < 20 second boot times I tried to switch to Ultra Fast Boot in my BIOS. I didn't notice any speed increase and now I can't boot into my BIOS because the Ultra Fast Boot option disables the keyboard.
So:
1) How do I disable this option
or
2) How can I make my boot time quicker?
Thanks guys!
