I've been trying various things to get this to work. I tried using Multibeast and the audio_realtekALC[...].command thing, but nothing works.

The closest I have gotten to make things work is getting the devices to show up in my system preferences (ref: http://imgur.com/zvUnn0T ), but no matter what I select or how I tweak the volume, nothing happens.

I've tried every possible front/rear input/output combination there is, no luck.

Another problem is that I don't really know my motherboard. I know it's an MSI, 1366 socket, ALC 888 audio and Realtek 8111 Ethernet, but not the exact model.

Also, when running the .command file mentioned above, when it detected the ALC 888 codec, it said something about it being old and it recommended the legacy drivers. I did try both the legacy and the current drivers, but same result (devices show up but no sound).

I am really desperate. If you need any more information, let me know.
