I don't have Windows installed on my Hackintosh, so it turns out I have no trivial way to answer the question of whether it's a limitation of my motherboard, or some missing piece of configuration

Should an iPad Air 2 charge when connected to a USB port on a Z97 deluxe?

I enable the "Battery Charging mode" setting in my BIOS, and even tried installing a custom DSDT with the "USB HighPower" patch, but nope, no luck

However, it seems that my USB is well capable of delivering more than 500mA. This is the System Profiler output for my USB memory card reader: Speed: Up to 5 Gb/sec Current Available (mA): 900 Current Required (mA): 896

On the other hand, my iPad reports: Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec Current Available (mA): 500 Current Required (mA): 500 and the device UI sticks at "Not Charging"

Expected behavior?
