So I thought I would have the same success as everyone here who has updated to the latest firmware but I wasn't so lucky.
The update went smoothly from the app store, updated all necessary files and was able to boot with the nvdisable=1 flag. But once I updated the nvidia driver to the one compatible for my Asus Strix 970 from here , my PC only boots to the Windows drive. Mind you, I'm running seperate SSD's for both OS's

I know the problem stems from having an Asus MB but is there anyone else having this issue after updating?
Also, to get past this problem in the beginning I used the EFI partition method from this video
