I've had my trusty hackintosh for a little over 4 years now. Through Snow Leopard through 10.9.4 (which is what I use) it's always done pretty well.

Lately it has been painful slow. I decided a fresh install couldn't hurt so as I type the installer is running in the other room. When the installer finishes I know I have the ability to transfer from another Mac (in my case my ccc backup drive).

Now, with the idea that I backed up a poorly running system, if I transfer files and what not using the automated tool am I going to be restoring the problem? Would I be better off just manually setting up the system again and dragging users files back in place?

Last thought, since the backup is of 10.9.4 and the installer might be not updated (I'm not sure when I backed it up from appstore) could that cause complications?

Thanks for any insight.
