Wondering if anyone can answer the following?
As of now (June 2015), is there still a debate about chimera vs. clover hackintoshes. What are the general pros and cons to each method, for an everyday user, and is it true that chimera systems are not able to do iMessage, handoff or continuity? Also, are there any features that you get on a genuine apple system that you can in no way currently get on a hackintosh system and what is the scenario for this to happen?
I am building a mackintosh to be used as a home theater Pc (HTPC) in my living room. I have an iPhone and macbook air, so I don't, necessarily, have to have iMessage, handoff and continuity on my hackintosh.
I may be wrong about this, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that chimera/chameleon hackintoshes are infinately easier to get outing running than clover based systems. So, it appears to me that clover is unarguably the best way to go, but if you don't have the time, expertise or understanding/comprehension to build a clover mackintosh, you might still be able to build a chimera, since it is easier.
Finally, it seems like speed stepping is a big issue and takes a lot of time in mackintosh to get correct. As a result, is it just best to pick an intel cpu that is in a correct apple product to avoid this headache. Also, is it true and apple throttles a fair share of their cpus to conserve power, but, affectively limits the amount of performance you are actually paying for in the chip?
Thank you in advance for your time and response,
Kind Regards,
