Hi all,
I have recently bought a Clevo P750ZM laptop, which I'm trying to install Yosemite on.
I had a 500GB SSD carbon copy clone from my other working Hackintosh (X79, 3930K). I tried booting this up and I was able to get all the way to the user login, but had a spinning beach ball of death at this point. Pretty happy with how it went on it's first shot, I decided to try to do a new install on a different 1TB hard disk.
I used the guides to setup a USB Yosemite installer using Clover. One thing to keep in mind is that the P750ZM only has USB3.0 ports. No matter what I try, and I have tried so many combinations of USB port/BIOS settings - AHCI, etc/Clover settings it fails every single time with "still waiting for root device". After hours of trying to find a resolution I decided to just clone my working Hackintosh onto the drive again. The only difference is I didn't clone the EFI partition, but rather installed Clover from scratch. I copied over the same config.plist, kexts, .efi files, etc.
Booting up from this hard disk has exactly the same issue - "still waiting for root device". I have again gone through many different BIOS and Clover settings. I've read pretty much every forum post I can find on this issue but can't figure out how to resolve it.
Unfortunately I used the 500GB SSD for Windows 10 install, so I can't go back and check/re-test.
SATA Ports Port 0 - 1TB (Hard Disk) Cloned from working system using Carbon Copy Cloner. Clover v2.3k_r3241 Port 1 - 500GB (SSD - Windows, this is disabled in the BIOS, makes no difference)
Booting use UEFI only. With 1TB disk as first system drive.
Any help in resolving this would be really appreciated! Thanks!
