Hi all,
I've had a working hackintosh (Mountain Lion upgraded to Mavericks upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.4) for a while now with minor issues like audio not working after upgrades and occasional freezes after wake from sleep; also some bigger issues with SATA controller, Ethernet, Audio, and CPU power management after fresh install / major update.
I've been using Clover for the bootloader and it works quite well after I tweaked my config a bit.
I have two sets of hardware to use currently, just bought a new motherboard but not sure I want to keep it if I can get a working DSDT and SSDT with my old board.
Old hardware:
New hardware I can use or take back:
Hardware used on both builds:
I've been happy working with the kext's and kext patches where necessary, but I'm wondering if I can get a more stable build running with all the components working properly on my old build as I'm having trouble justifying the new hardware right now. I would also like to be able to overclock my CPU and have speed stepping work properly (on the i5 760 if possible).
Would this be achievable with a DSDT and SSDT? Unfortunately there's very little info on using the MSI board in a hackintosh. I also don't know a lot on editing DSDTs or writing in DSL, so I would be flying blind.
If there are good resources I could use for editing an extracted DSDT to work with Yosemite? Or if anybody would be willing to get their hands dirty I would not object to some help ;). I'm currently at work so I don't have access to extract a DSDT or to grab my working clover config for my MSI board but I can post these later for review if needed.
Thank you beautiful people /r/Hackintosh for any help or recommendations you can give!
EDIT:
Just quick update, I was looking at DSDT Auto Patcher from hackintoshosx and I found a patch file in there for my MSI board, so that may give me all the answers I need once I get home to give it a go.
