I apologize for the stupid question. This seems like the type of thing that would be asked a lot.

Is there an off the shelf tower that I could buy from Newegg that would work as a low budget Hackintosh?

Usage

90% of the time I'd be using it to play poker online. Part of me thinks I should just buy a windows tower and be done with it.

However, my day job is an interactive design gig. I've had a few Macbook Pros and have one for work. Occasionally I work from home and my wife works from home as a designer. She's got an aging Macbook Pro.

So, 10% of the time I'd be using it to run Adobe Creative Cloud. I don't do any motion or video work.

No gaming aside from poker.

What I've looked at

I've been entertaining the notion of buying a used Mac Mini and expanding the RAM. This would probably be less than ideal for design work but it'd work in a pinch. I already have a monitor that we hook our laptops up to.

The other thing I've looked at is the budget Dell towers from Newegg that come with Windows 8.1 for around ~$150. I've seen towers with no OS for closer to $100 but I doubt they'd be compatible.

Since I'm not really using it for anything important I'd love to keep the cost under $300. Is there such a thing as an off the shelf bare bones tower that could run OSX?
