I built a hackintosh early 2011, which has been almost perfectly stable over the years. Specs as follows:
Ga-Z68a-d3-b3 (award bios)
i5-2500k
8gb Ram
HD4850 (upgraded to GFX770)
256Gb SSD, Chimera bootloader dual booting
*Windows 8 (later upgraded to 8.1)
*Mountain Lion 10.8.5
With Windows 10 out, I think it's time to upgrade the Os'.
I have bought a second SSD so that I can install each OS on a separate drive.
Possible process:
*Upgrade windows 8.1 to 10 to acquire new key. Download ISO via Microsoft.
*Upgrade bios to UEFI from gigabyte site
*Clean install windows 10
*Clover install Yosemite on other disk
I've never used Clover, and don't care about imessage etc so is it worth doing?
I'm also wondering whether my Windows needs re-activation is I change the bios. Does this process sound sensible, anyone else in a similar situation?
