Just got all the parts for a new x99 build of mine. I'm fitting both my current system, (Sandy Bridge i5-2500K, ASUS P8Z68-V LX Hackintosh mobo), and my new x99 system into Power Mac G5, (2004), cases.
The Dilemma: G5 case requires a mATX mobo in order to use the case without altering any of the original component homes, (eg. The PSU I plan on fitting into the G5 PSU, I also plan on reusing the default G5 HDD bays).
My new x99 platform will be a piece of cake, since I know which Mobo I'm using: EVGA's Micro2 seems to be the perfect match for my needs.
The dilemma is introduced when it comes to my current Sandy based platform. As stated, I'm currently running the latest OS X on the ASUS P8Z68-V LX and it's a dream. In order to use this system in the G5 casing, I'm needing to find a replacement motherboard in format of Micro ATX, with Socket 1155 for Sandy. My preference is ASUS due to their remarkable BIOS and I've noticed their excellent compatibility with OS X.
I've made a list in PCPartPicker of the mATX/Mini ITX ASUS boards that use LGA 1155. Should make educating easier: https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/motherboard/#m=8&s=14&f=7,8
Suggestions? My only other requirement is that it has a minimum of one PCIe slot for an Ethernet card, as to my knowledge, most ATX mobos Ethernet ports are trouble when it comes to OS X. If anyone has any knowledge that can assist me with that, I'm open.
TLDR; Good LGA 1151 ASUS Micro ATX motherboard to replace the current full ATX?
