Hi there! I am relatively computer savvy but never really dove into the hardware side of things. I've been doing my gaming and music production on an aging 2010 MBP and I'm looking to upgrade.

My question is: is it possible build a dual-booting hackintosh that can handle audio engineering (with Logic of course) as well as windows gaming, at a price point of about $600? I don't need a display, keyboard, mouse or either of the OS's. I do need to know however if a hackintosh is worth the trouble when it comes to things like audio device drivers and DAWs and studio monitor setups. Like I said, I don't know much about computer hardware but I was kind of hoping to push my budget to include 8gb of ram and maybe a core i5 CPU (but I'm aware I may be pushing my luck with that) (not that I pretend to understand what those components really entail anyway). However, a DVI port is a must as it's my preferred method of connecting my monitor.

In terms of the gaming side of things, I'd be using steam on a 1080p monitor, and I don't need to run Battlefield 4 on ultra or anything like that, just most current and AAA games on acceptable medium-ish settings (or as high as the budget will allow).

Thanks in advance for you help! This is actually my first post on reddit by the way, so I hope I did alright. :3
