My system is running 10.10.4 as an iMac 14,2 with a GA-z97x-Gaming 7, Core i7 4790k, 32gb memory, GTX 970. My system is up and 99% working. But I have some small problems that I'd like to see if anyone out there could help me with. These are not make or break issues but I'd like to get this perfect if possible.

The biggest problem is that after a while, the DVD drive becomes unresponsive. That is not a huge deal but it then won't allow me to open disk utility. I have no idea why this is happening.

I suspect I have a USB power issue. I have a USB hub that my keyboard, mouse and webcam are plugged into. This USB hub has a power adapter but it can run on bus power. Whether it is plugged in to the power adapter or not I have odd issues dealing with USB. Plugging in or unplugging things will occasionally make the system crash. I think I have tracked it back to the hub but now that I think of it, that may be because it's the closest usb ports to me. Either way, something is up with USB.

How can I disable turbo boost? I'm using a program now called turbo boost switcher, and it does the job. The problem is that every time the machine turns on or wakes up I have to re-enter the password. If it would be possible, I'd like to just disable it permanently and move on.

That's it. Thanks for the help.
