Hi everyone!

I need some advice for building a hackintosh which I will mainly use for music production. This could be my setup:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD7-TH Processor: Core i7-4790K CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H60 Graphics Card: EVGA GT 740 SC Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 32GB (4 x 8GB) OS SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Power Supply: Corsair AX 760 Watt WIFI: TP-Link PCI Express Wifi Adapter (N) Tower: NZXT H440

So, the important components for me are a motherboard with thunderbolt connection, a very fast CPU, a lot of RAM and a SSD. I don't really need the best graphics card out there because I rarely play any games. I am owning at the moment an iMac 21,5 late 2012, so if the graphics card is on the same level like that, it will be ok for me.

Therefore, I have some questions to you guys:

  1. What do you think about this setup? Is there something missing or "too much"? (if I can save some money somewhere, please tell me )

  2. I have an UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt and an Apogee Duet iOS Audio Interface. The most important things for me are that these two pieces work perfectly with a hackintosh. So, does someone of you know if these two pieces work without any problems? (I saw in the topic "music" that Apogee Duet 2 and UAD Apollo Duo work, but unfortunately nothing about the Apogee Duet iOS and UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt version)

  3. I am not sure yet if I should use Yosemite or Mavericks on it. At the moment I use Mavericks on my iMac 21,5 late 2012 mainly because I use Logic Pro 9 and it works quite well. I have heard that Logic Pro 9 is not supported on Yosemite and causes some problems. So, does anyone know if Logic Pro 9 work fine on Yosemite? What do you guys think? Should I better stay with Mavericks or switch to Yosemite?

I hope you guys could help me.

Thanks!
