Currently running Mavericks 10.9.5 via MBR (BIOS does not see GUID HDDs to boot from!). I have patched Yosemite UniBeast flash drive for MBR boot, but no matter what I do, there is a near instant reboot after (USB) bootloader hand-off.
I didn't need APIC patch or anything crazy for Mavericks, but something is killing my Yosemite install attempt. I would prefer doing an Upgrade not fresh install too, as the 500GB hard drive is full of software/documents etc.
I think all my drivers are covered for Yosemite, just need to solve this issue.
Let me try a few more things (I already switched SMBIOS to correct MacBookPro8,1).
PS. No UEFI boot on this machine.
Any thoughts or ideas most welcome!
