I had a Hackintosh "back in the day" when I was in college (~6 years ago) and it was a constant headache. Kernel panics, incompatibility issues, etc. etc.
Assuming I was willing to go with an all-new build, is this actually a viable option now? Can I build something "reliable" (e.g. not a massive headache every 3-6 months) and not encounter any significant compatibility issues? I obviously understand that the immediate appeal is the dollar-per-ghz/gb compared to buying a new Mac.
I'd really appreciate someone weighing in with some reassurance. :)
