I've posted about this build twice over the past month over at /r/buildapc and I only received one reply, recommending this sub. I felt that that sub was probably more suitable for this post, but since I haven't received any help there, I thought I'd try this sub.
So this is will be my second build and its for my cousin, who asked me to build a computer for him. He would like to be able to boot Windows 10, OSX, and Linux. He wants it to be able to run databases, programming for Linux, programming for iOS apps, use it for basic photo/video editing, wants it to be constantly running, access it by phone (iPhone 6 plus). He plans to be doing some gaming (so being able to run what ever game he throws at it on high would be nice). His monitor setup will consist of a 4k monitor (maybe one of those ultra wide monitors) and his current HDTV.
Now I am obviously not the most experienced when it comes to pc building and multi OS booting, so I have a few questions with this build.
- Are these parts overkill for his requests? Any suggests for different parts?
- Would multi-booting be possible with the current parts? Is there a better solution? (such as having multiple hard drives for each OS)
- Is the selected power supply under powered for this build and for the constant running he plans to do?
Any advice would be extremely helpful cause I am finding this build to be pretty daunting for my second build. I want to ensure that this build can easily meet his requests, but at the same time be reasonable and cost-efficient. I've already checked tonymacx86.com for the parts compatibility with OSX, but any other great sites/links on hackintosh builds or multi-booting would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
