Been running an i7 4790 @ 4.2ghz chip on Yosemite 10.10.4 perfectly fine (stable but slow) for about 2 months but recently have been experiencing a lot of lag.
Using uni/multbeast bootloader, Transparency is enabled, Trim is enabled on a 512gb ssd drive and I'm using the onboard Intel graphics and not external vid card. ( less issues ) No games or videos..just lots of data and graphics stuff.
The machine runs several windows and Ubuntu virtual machines at one time plus dozens of tabs open on chrome and ff.
The weird part is ..I'm running into the spinning ball / lagging with 6 gigs of ram showing free.
Is that normal? I assumed lagging would start with very little ram available like less than 1GB.
I ran a similar load on my 2012 MacBook Pro and it felt slightly snappier on that than this new build on a hacintosh.
what am I doing wrong? I was expecting a much faster machine when I built it so I'm hoping it's a settings issue.
