So after buying a new motherboard (MSI Z97 GAMING 5) and it sitting in the box ready to be installed, I noticed that the onboard KILLER GAMING NIC (Killer E2205) doesn't support JUMBO FRAMES (something which I want for my NAS).
I've been looking for something relatively cheap (around £10) that will support gigabit ethernet and jumbo frames and either be natively supported in OS X or have some driver support there.
If I can't find one well, I guess I'll have to send it back.
