Hey guys.
Mac user here (yeah, I know). I'm a videographer of sorts and my late 2009 Macbook pro just isn't cutting it right now. It's slow, sluggish, and well...just shit.
As it stands I work with 1080p Pro-res 422 files within Final Cut Pro X but I soon hope to be working with 1080p-2k raw then onto 4k and 4k raw when I upgrade my Camera within the year.
So with that being said, I really need some help building a PC that will fit my needs...and of course I'm on a tight budget. If I could spend £500-600 buying some new, some used gear then I'd drop the cash today.
Speaking to my cousin it seems like an i7 build is the way to go. Things to note:
Editing 1080p raw/4k raw
Using Final Cut Pro predominantly but would love to comfortably use other programs like Premiere
Not fussed about looks, as case is fine
Not fussed about sound, can be loud, quiet, whatever.
Will be using a 1080p monitor till I upgrade to 4k.
Happy to buy used gear
Would love to use Davinci Resolve in the future for grading. Building PCs and shit really isn't my forte so I'm kind of at a brick wall with this. I don't want to limit myself to just being able to work with 1080p but at the same time I don't yet need a 4k editing beast...
