So I have a ASUS 750ti that only works with VGA video (a limitation of this specific brand and model of gpu). In an attempt to get the HDMI/DVI, flashing the firmware of a working card, such as the ASUS Strix OC, seems like a valid option.
So I've read that you can load alternate firmware in Clover without having to actually flash over the original firmware of the card with the LoadVBios option – have I understood this correctly? And if yes, how can I get hold of the correct .rom file to use? If I mess up and can't boot into OS X after enabling the LoadVBios option, can I disable it with a flag or do I need my setup USB again to boot clover?
Also, it'd be of value to hear from anyone with experience loading VBios this way with Clover in general.
[Note: as I'm unsure if obtaining a bios version for a different version of gpu counts as any form of "software piracy", please let me know if that is the case so that I can edit this post in order to comply with the guidelines of this sub]
