I spent this v-day assembling a hackintosh on the kitchen table, as one does when they have no boyfriend. While miraculously, all of the hardware worked immediately, it was less easy getting El Capitan installed. Nevertheless, it too is installed! It's working pretty well, actually. It recognizes the input of the webcam I set up, microphone and camera, and it's connecting to the wifi just fine.
HOWEVER
As soon as the USB is gone, it don't boot no more.
Every time I've tried to apply Multibeast settings, it's failed.
Trying to reinstall Clover has failed.
I tried to mount and reformat the EFI partition with Clover Configurator and Terminal alike, but neither have seemed to do anything.

Note: The SSD is not connected at this time - I'm planning to install Windows on that one, and do a dual boot. El Capitan is on the HD.
Also, I was able to download the drivers for the graphics card, so that's working just fine. The first time I booted El Capitan, it was really messed up in the graphics department, so GPU incompatibility shouldn't be the problem.
I've tried various command line things to try to fix it (though in my very haphazard way, I didn't really take much note of which ones they were) and looked up BIOS settings for my motherboard, but it looks like the main problem is that Clover isn't installing, and I think it's all got to do with the messed up partition.
Also: Am not sure how to do things with kexts.
Have I missed something obvious? Do I need to do crazy things to get it all normal?
