Upgrading my vmware Yosemite to El Capitan to update xcode, but upgrade starts with "preparing to install. your computer will reboot automatically" but it doesn't reboot and install.
I also had problems with downloading the El Capitan upgrade in the app store. It would always stop at 1.9 gb. So I grabbed the dmg from the web and converted it to a bootable usb which is how I am running the upgrade now.
Any ideas on what I need to do in order to get it to upgrade? I tried to use the usb to install a new vm, but it stopped a 90% complete after 3 hours.
