Hello everyone! I've tried countless times with all sorts of versions and hardware, and have never gotten a functioning Hackintosh. In my current build, I have parts that should in theory work with Hackintosh. I didn't exactly think about getting hardware meant for a Hackintosh, but I think these parts should work.

There isn't much documentation regarding the Z97A specifically, but I'm trying to get it working based off what is out there. My friend suggested I try installing Yosemite using an older version of Unibeast because he claims it is easier. I encountered an error trying to make the USB, specifically: "smbios not found" and there isn't much info on that either. What I wound up doing: Zeroing out my USB drive, then mounting an image of a successful Unibeast drive onto my drive through DiskUtility's restore feature.

In BIOS: I have turned off CFG-lock, secure boot mode, and VT-d. I've tried CSM on and off, legacy USB mode on, disabled LAN, optimized defaults, AHCI mode is on. It is BIOS v. 2501.

The issue: I can't boot from my drive! What happens currently is this: The computer boots, will try to boot into my USB, I see a cursor at the top left which, which quickly jumps towards the middle of the screen, then it redirects me into BIOS settings.

I'm not sure at this point what the issue is. My mother seems compatible, there have been a few success cases. The drive I'm using is flashed with an image of a functional Unibeast drive from a friend.
