Hey Guys,

I recently purchased myself a used X220 laptop and promptly installed the 1.4 whitelist bios and maxed out the specs (i5-2540, 16GB ram, 1 TB SSD).

I installed windows 10 and it runs wonderfully but now I'm getting the itch to try loading El Capitan on it. I've never done a hackintosh before and I've been doing a lot of reading lately and I have a few questions... I've checked out the guide on x220.mcdonnelltech.com

  1. I'm going to buy and install the azurewave ce-123h half-length minipci card. I'm choosing this because it supports AC wireless + BT4LE. I know it isn't supported OOB and will have to do some patching/kext driver stuff (still not fully familiar with all this kext stuff). Can someone give me a quick rundown on how to do kext patching? I'm trying to follow http://ift.tt/1ZL0fN5 but I'm getting lost. At what point of the OS X installation do I add the ce-123h card to the info.plist?

  2. But ultimately, I want it to support continuity and handoff. I believe the CE-123H care is the 'best' option. Is there a better card in the <$50 range? Or is there another minipci card that works OOB that does AC, and supports Handoff and Continuity?

  3. Does the trackpoint scrolling (middle mouse button) work in OS X? I rely on this a lot in windows...

  4. Dual-Boot: I would love to split my 1TB drive between OS X and Win10. Does anyone have a good guide on setting up dual booting on the same drive? I also may considering going 100% OS X and running windows 10 in a virtual box VM (since I have RAM to spare).

  5. Is there any new info on getting the card reader working in OS X? does this work: http://ift.tt/1M0u9dW

TIA!!!
