Using Unibeast and Clover Configurator, I've managed to boot the El Capitan installer on my Dell Inspiron 15 7559:
i7-6700HQ Skylake, chipset HM170 (Intel 100 series)
16GB DDR3 RAM (2x8GB)
Intel HD530 Graphics
NVIDIA GTX 960M
1TB Internal HDD + 512GB M.2 SSD
(side note: I plan to disable the NVIDIA while using OS X)
I can successfully get to the installer, and use Disk Utility and Terminal and the like. However, my problem comes when neither of my internal drives are recognized by the installer, Disk Utility, or 'diskutil list' in Terminal. The only drive shown is the Clover/Installer flash drive.
Now, my BIOS settings should be all set as far as I know. Virtualization is Off, SATA mode is set to ACHI, and they seem to be working settings to get the installer running. I'm just baffled as to why I'm not getting any of my SATA devices to show up in the installer. This is the guide that I've been following up to this point.
Now, I have found something about a kext for unsupported 100 series chipsets here, but have not had any luck with it under /EFI/Clover/kexts/Other. I'm away from my install flash drive right now, but my last idea is that I remember there to be something wrong with the whole "fast startup" option in windows that might prevent the drive from being mountable when I go to boot OS X? (Control Panel>Power Options>Choose What Closing the Lid Does>Turn On Fast Start). I am going to disable that and try again first thing in the morning, but in the mean time, does anybody have any other ideas I can try in case my above idea doesn't work? Thank you all in advance! I'll try to provide more info if it's needed.
